Judy in KY

Hi Anya,
It's a delight to read your posts. Have you heard the recent study that shows happiness is contagious? Well, you sound so happy when you write that your happiness is spreading all the way here to Kentucky! I'm sure that's why that woman wanted to talk to you on the phone too. Your family is lucky to have you.

Mrs. C

What a beautiful pic of you and Katy!!

Yes, it must have been a good thing she kept dialing your number. I keep wondering what this man's motivation must be. When your girlfriend is 70, you don't have 8 years to just hang out. You just don't. :[

That's one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me, Judy. Thank you.

Well, Mrs. C, it sounded like his motivation was to just have a woman near for his occasional beck and call with no intention of giving anything back. Yes, at 70 I'll bet the urge to get things done gets pretty strong.

Whata gal! Hope I'm still up for it at 70! Although bloke sounds a bit of a rotter.
And I 'm sure she was right about you being the person she should have talked to.
1st Cristmas is the worst alone, so lets hear it for next being the one with no sad bits!
hugs xx

The idea of starting over after that kind of time scares the cr*p out of me. You are one brave woman! I wish you all the best.

Am I the only one who smells a rat here?

I would be tempted to ask her for his address.. just to play PI >... check out a few things.... I'm betting he is not living alone for starters.....

me

  • My name is Anya and I live in the mountains of Colorado, with my 10 year old grand daughter Katy, and a fish named Duke. After 40 years of marriage I find myself suddenly divorced; and for the first time in my life I'm on my own making all the decisions myself, and raising a child again many years after doing it the first time. Almost everything has changed for me...and everything that still hasn't will eventually. But I'm thinking this is a rare gift for me to be able to build a whole new life for myself. I know it won't be smooth sailing all the way; but I'm looking forward to the ride!

Comment please!
